The E18 or F18 error means your Bosch washing machine cannot drain properly. The drainage hose is blocked, kinked, or the drain pump is clogged. This requires checking and cleaning both the drainage hose and the pump. Use caution — residual water may be very hot. Set the program to OFF and unplug the machine before performing any maintenance.

How to fix it

    Loosen the hose clip on the siphon connection, remove the drainage hose carefully, and clear any blockage

    Clean the drain pump — open the service flap, slowly remove the pump cover to drain remaining water, clean the interior and pump housing, and make sure the impeller wheel can turn freely

    Reinsert the pump cover and screw it on firmly — the pump cap handle must be in a vertical position when closed

    Check for leaks by pouring 1 quart of water into the detergent dispenser before restarting
