The E:30 -80 error means your Bosch washing machine cannot drain properly. This can be caused by a blocked or kinked drainage hose, a drain hose installed too high, an unsuitable hose extension, a blocked drain pump, an incorrectly fitted pump cap, or excess suds from too much detergent. Work through the checks below in order.

  • An unsuitable extension is fitted to the water outlet hose
  • Drain pump is blocked
  • Pump cap is not correctly fitted or fully screwed in

How to fix it

    Clean the drain pipe and water outlet hose and check for kinks

    Make sure the water outlet hose is installed at a maximum height of 39 inches (1 metre)

    Remove any unsuitable extension fitted to the outlet hose

  4. 4

    Clean the drain pump following the instructions in your owner's manual

  5. 5

    Make sure the pump cap is screwed in all the way with the handle in a vertical position

    If excess suds are visible mix one tablespoon of fabric softener with 2 cups of water and pour into compartment II

    Reduce detergent for future cycles
