Daikin Air Conditioner A3 error code
Difficulty: Medium
·
Cost: $0–$200
·
Duration: 15–30m
The A3 error means your Daikin air conditioner detected an abnormality in the drain level control system. The most common cause is a blocked or upward-sloping condensate drain pipe that is preventing water from draining away normally. A float switch fault or defective drain pump can also trigger this. Check that the drain hose is not blocked or kinked and is sloping downward. If the drain appears clear contact a qualified technician.
Common causes
- Condensate drain pipe is blocked or clogged with algae, mold, or debris
- Drain pipe is installed with an upward slope preventing gravity drainage
- Drain pump has malfunctioned or failed
- Float switch is defective or has a short circuit in its connector
How to fix it
-
1
Check the condensate drain pipe for blockages — pour a small amount of water near the drain pan to test if it drains freely
-
2
Make sure the drain pipe slopes downward continuously from the indoor unit to the drain outlet
-
3
Clear any visible blockage from the drain pipe end
-
4
If the drain appears clear and the error persists contact a qualified technician to inspect the drain pump and float switch
