HS is not an error code. It is a safety indicator that appears when the cooktop surface temperature exceeds 150°F. This is completely normal after cooking and the indicator will turn off automatically once the surface cools down to a safe temperature. If the surface feels cool to the touch but HS is still showing resetting the circuit breaker will usually clear it. If it persists after resetting the unit will need a professional inspection.

Common causes

  • Cooktop surface is still hot after recent use — this is normal
  • Residual heat is still being detected by the surface temperature sensor
  • Temperature sensor malfunction showing HS when surface is already cool

How to fix it

    Wait for the cooktop surface to cool down — HS will turn off automatically once the temperature drops below 150°F

    Do not touch the surface while HS is displayed
