Panasonic Microwave H97 error code
The H97 error means your Panasonic microwave detected an input error in the inverter circuit. This indicates a problem with the power supply entering the inverter or a fault in the inverter itself. H97 is closely related to H98 and H99 and all three point to faults in the magnetron and inverter system. A power reset sometimes clears H97 if it was triggered by a temporary power surge. If it returns the inverter board will need replacing by an authorised service centre. Do not attempt to repair the inverter yourself as it handles dangerously high voltages.
Common causes
- Power surge caused a temporary fault in the inverter input
- Inverter circuit has malfunctioned or failed
- Magnetron has failed causing the inverter to detect an abnormal input condition
How to fix it
-
1
Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes and plug it back in to attempt a reset
-
2
If H97 returns stop using the microwave and contact a qualified technician
-
3
Do not attempt to open or repair the inverter circuit — it operates at dangerously high voltages
