The F8 E2 error means your Whirlpool refrigerator detected a problem with the ice maker thermistor — the temperature sensor inside the ice maker that monitors temperatures to control the ice making cycle. When it fails ice production may stop or become inconsistent. A power reset clears temporary faults. If the code returns service is required.
