Bosch Cooktop F5 (Electric / Induction / Gas) error code

Difficulty: Easy · Cost: $0 · Duration: 1–5m

The F5 code on your Bosch cooktop means hot cookware has been placed near or on the control panel area. When accompanied by a signal tone and the heat level display flashing the electronics are at risk of overheating but the zone is still on — remove the cookware immediately. When accompanied by only a signal tone the cooking zone has already switched off — remove the cookware, wait a few seconds, then touch any control element to resume.

Common causes

  • Hot cookware was accidentally placed on or near the control panel
  • Steam or heat from cooking is affecting the control panel area

How to fix it

  1. 1

If F5 shows with power level flashing and signal tone — remove the cookware from the control panel and continue cooking

  2. 2

If F5 shows with signal tone only — remove the cookware from the control panel

  3. 3

    Wait a few seconds

  4. 4

Touch any control element on the cooktop

  5. 5

When the F5 message disappears and the electronics have cooled you can continue cooking

  6. 6

Always keep cookware on the designated cooking zones and away from the control panel
