LG Range (Electric) F1 error code

The F1 error means your LG range detected a problem with the upper oven thermistor — the temperature sensor that monitors heat levels inside the upper oven cavity during cooking. Without an accurate temperature reading the oven cannot regulate heat safely and stops the function. A reset clears it in some cases but if F1 keeps returning the thermistor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Upper oven thermistor has malfunctioned or failed
Wiring connection to the upper oven thermistor is loose or damaged
Temporary electronic glitch causing a false thermistor reading

How to fix it

Press the CLEAR/OFF key to clear the error and try the original function again

If F1 reappears turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

If F1 persists after resetting the upper oven thermistor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
