LG Range (Electric) F10 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $100–$300 · Duration: 5m

The F10 error means your LG range detected a failure in the upper oven door locking system. The door lock is required during the self-clean cycle to keep the oven door sealed while temperatures inside reach extremely high levels. When the locking mechanism cannot engage or disengage correctly the oven stops the function as a safety measure. A reset clears it in some cases but if F10 keeps returning the door lock assembly will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Door lock motor or mechanism has malfunctioned or failed
  • Door lock assembly is physically obstructed or jammed
  • Wiring connection to the door lock motor is loose or damaged
  • Temporary electronic glitch causing a false door lock error

How to fix it

  1. 1

Press the CLEAR/OFF key to clear the error and try the original function again

  2. 2

If F10 reappears turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  3. 3

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  4. 4

If F10 persists after resetting the upper oven door lock assembly needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
