LG Range (Electric) F27 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $80–$250 · Duration: 5m

The F27 error means your LG range detected that the cooling fan stalled or locked up during the self-clean cycle. The cooling fan is essential during self-clean as it prevents the range's external surfaces and control components from overheating while the oven interior reaches extremely high temperatures. When the fan stops working during this process the range stops the self-clean cycle as a safety measure. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases but if F27 keeps returning the cooling fan motor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Cooling fan motor has stalled or locked during the self-clean cycle
  • Fan blade is obstructed by debris preventing it from spinning
  • Cooling fan motor has malfunctioned or failed
  • Wiring connection to the cooling fan motor is loose or damaged

How to fix it

  1. 1

Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  2. 2

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  3. 3

If F27 persists after resetting the cooling fan motor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
