LG Range (Electric) F45 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $80–$250 · Duration: 5m

The F45 error means your LG range detected a problem with one of its fans. The range uses fans to cool internal components and circulate air during convection and self-clean cycles. When a fan fault is detected the range stops the current function as a safety measure to prevent overheating. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases but if F45 keeps returning the fan motor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Fan motor has malfunctioned or failed
  • Fan blade is obstructed by debris preventing it from spinning
  • Wiring connection to the fan motor is loose or damaged
  • Temporary electronic glitch causing a false fan error

How to fix it

  1. 1

Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  2. 2

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  3. 3

If F45 persists after resetting the fan motor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
