LG Range (Electric) F46 error code
Difficulty: Hard
·
Cost: $80–$250
·
Duration: 5m
The F46 error means your LG range detected a problem with one of its fans. This is similar to the F45 error but represents a different fan fault condition. The range uses fans to cool internal components and circulate air during convection and self-clean cycles. When a fan fault is detected the range stops the current function as a safety measure to prevent overheating. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases but if F46 keeps returning the fan motor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.
Common causes
- Fan motor has malfunctioned or failed
- Fan blade is obstructed by debris preventing it from spinning
- Wiring connection to the fan motor is loose or damaged
- Temporary electronic glitch causing a false fan error
How to fix it
-
1
Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds
-
2
Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

If F46 persists after resetting the fan motor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
