LG Range (Electric) F51 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $80–$250 · Duration: 5m

The F51 error means your LG range detected a problem with the griddle sensor — the temperature sensor that monitors heat levels on the built-in griddle surface. When it develops a fault the range cannot regulate griddle temperature safely and stops the griddle function. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases but if F51 keeps returning the griddle sensor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Griddle temperature sensor has malfunctioned or failed
  • Wiring connection to the griddle sensor is loose or damaged
  • Internal fault in the griddle sensor circuit

How to fix it

  1. 1

Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  2. 2

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  3. 3

If F51 persists after resetting the griddle sensor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
