LG Range (Gas) 5b error code

5b is not an error code. It means your LG range has been placed into Sabbath Mode and is displayed as 5b on certain models instead of Sb. This feature is designed for use during the Jewish Sabbath and religious holidays. When active the temperature cannot be adjusted, and the timer, light, and alarm functions are all disabled. If the oven light was already on when Sabbath mode was activated it will remain on throughout. Sabbath mode can be turned off by following the button sequence below.

  • Sabbath mode was accidentally activated by pressing the wrong button combination

How to fix it

    Press the BAKE button

    Use the +/- keys to set a bake temperature

  3. 3

    Press START

  4. 4

    Press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds to exit Sabbath mode

  5. 5

    The display will return to normal and all functions will be re-enabled
