LG Range (Gas) F18 error code
Difficulty: Medium
·
Cost: $0–$150
·
Duration: 5m
The F18 error means your LG range detected a problem with the meat probe. This is similar to the F8 error but represents a different meat probe fault condition. The meat probe is a temperature sensor accessory that plugs into the oven wall to monitor the internal temperature of meat during cooking. When it malfunctions the oven cannot read the probe temperature correctly and stops the probe cooking function. A reset clears it in some cases but if F18 keeps returning the meat probe or its socket will need to be inspected by a technician.
Common causes
- Meat probe is not fully inserted into the probe socket inside the oven
- Meat probe is damaged or has developed a fault
- Probe socket inside the oven wall is damaged or has a wiring fault
- Temporary electronic glitch causing a false probe error
How to fix it
-
1
Check that the meat probe is fully inserted into the probe socket on the oven wall
-
2
Press the CLEAR/OFF key to clear the error and try the original function again
-
3
If F18 reappears turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds
