LG Range (Gas) F21 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $80–$250 · Duration: 5m

The F21 error means your LG range detected a failure in the steam sensor — the component that monitors steam levels inside the oven cavity, typically used during steam-assisted cooking functions. When it fails the range cannot manage steam cooking safely and stops the function. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases but if F21 keeps returning the steam sensor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Steam sensor has malfunctioned or failed completely
  • Wiring connection to the steam sensor is loose or damaged
  • Internal fault in the steam sensor circuit

How to fix it

  1. 1

Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  2. 2

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  3. 3

If F21 persists after resetting the steam sensor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
