LG Range (Gas) F3 error code

Difficulty: Hard · Cost: $100–$300 · Duration: 5m

The F3 error means your LG range detected a problem with the touch pad sensor — the touch-sensitive control panel used to operate the range. When a key fault is detected the range cannot accept inputs correctly and stops the current function. This can be caused by moisture, food residue on the touch pad, or a hardware fault. A circuit breaker reset clears it in some cases. If F3 keeps returning the touch pad will need professional inspection.

Common causes

  • Touch pad sensor key has malfunctioned or failed
  • Moisture or food residue on the touch pad causing a false key input
  • Temporary electronic glitch triggering a false sensor key error
  • Touch pad wiring is loose or damaged

How to fix it

  1. 1

Turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

  2. 2

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

  3. 3

If F3 persists after resetting check the touch pad surface for any moisture or food debris and clean it gently with a dry cloth

  4. 4

If F3 keeps returning the touch pad sensor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
