LG Range (Gas) F5 error code

The F5 error means your LG range detected a problem with the lower oven thermistor. This is similar to the F4 error but represents a different fault condition in the lower oven temperature sensor. Without an accurate temperature reading the lower oven cannot regulate heat safely and stops the function. A reset clears it in some cases but if F5 keeps returning the thermistor will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Lower oven thermistor has malfunctioned or failed
Wiring connection to the lower oven thermistor is loose or damaged
Temporary electronic glitch causing a false thermistor reading

How to fix it

Press the CLEAR/OFF key to clear the error and try the original function again

If F5 reappears turn off the circuit breaker for the range and wait 30 seconds

Turn the circuit breaker back on and check if the error has cleared

If F5 persists after resetting the lower oven thermistor needs inspection and replacement by a qualified technician
