LG Refrigerator (Side-by-Side) Sb error code

Sb is not an error code. It means your LG refrigerator has been placed into Sabbath Mode, a feature designed for use during the Jewish Sabbath and religious holidays. When active, the refrigerator alarm functions are turned off and the water and ice dispenser is disabled. The display may show this as Sb, S6, 5b, or 56 depending on the model. Sabbath mode turns off automatically after 96 hours but can also be deactivated manually at any time.

Common causes

  • Sabbath mode was intentionally activated for religious observance
  • Freezer and WiFi buttons were accidentally held down together activating Sabbath mode

How to fix it

  1. 1

    To turn off Sabbath mode press and hold the Freezer button and the WiFi button at the same time for 3 seconds

    The display will return to normal and the dispenser and alarms will be re-enabled

  3. 3

    If you want to turn Sabbath mode back on touch the display to activate it then press and hold the Freezer and WiFi buttons for 3 seconds until Sb appears

  4. 4

    Note that Sabbath mode will also turn off automatically after 96 hours if left active
