Panasonic Air Conditioner H98 error code
Difficulty: Easy
·
Cost: $0–$150
·
Duration: 15–20m
The H98 error means your Panasonic air conditioner's indoor high-pressure protection has activated — the refrigerant pressure inside the indoor unit has exceeded the safe operating limit. This is a safety shutdown to protect the refrigerant circuit from damage. Common causes include a dirty air filter restricting airflow, blocked air vents, or a refrigerant circuit fault. Cleaning the filter and ensuring airflow is unobstructed resolves it in many cases.
Common causes
- Indoor air filter is dirty or clogged restricting airflow across the heat exchanger
- Indoor unit air intake or outlet vents are blocked by furniture or curtains
- Refrigerant circuit fault causing abnormally high pressure
- Ambient temperature is extremely high stressing the refrigerant circuit
How to fix it
-
1
Turn off the unit and remove and clean the indoor air filters
-
2
Make sure nothing is blocking the air intake or outlet of the indoor unit
-
3
Allow the unit to cool down for 15–20 minutes before restarting
-
4
If H98 keeps returning after cleaning the filter and clearing airflow contact a qualified technician to inspect the refrigerant circuit
