Samsung Dishwasher LC / LE error code
Difficulty: Medium
·
Cost: $0–$200
·
Duration: 20–30m
The LC or LE error means your Samsung dishwasher's leak sensor detected moisture in the base pan of the unit. When this error occurs the dishwasher will turn itself on automatically and will not turn off — it is attempting to drain away the detected water. Do not interrupt this process. Once draining is complete inspect the dishwasher for leaks. On WaterWall models this error can also indicate the water reflector is blocked.
Common causes
- Water has leaked into the base pan of the dishwasher
- Drain hose connection is leaking
- Door seal is damaged or not seating correctly
- Dishwasher is not level causing water to pool towards the leak sensor
- On WaterWall models the water reflector is blocked directing spray incorrectly
- Over-sudsing from incorrect detergent caused water to escape
How to fix it
-
1
Allow the dishwasher to finish its automatic drain cycle — do not turn it off or unplug it while it is draining
-
2
Once the drain cycle completes turn off power at the circuit breaker before inspecting
-
3
Check the drain hose, water supply hose, and door seal for signs of leaking
-
4
Make sure the dishwasher is level — an unlevel unit can cause water to pool and trigger the sensor
-
5
On WaterWall models check that no dishes are blocking the water reflector
-
6
Make sure you are using dishwasher-specific detergent and not dish soap
