Samsung Refrigerator 21E error code
The 21E error means your Samsung refrigerator's electronics cannot detect rotation from the freezer fan when it is supposed to be running. The freezer fan circulates cold air throughout the freezer compartment. This is most commonly caused by the fan becoming frozen due to the door being left open or a gap in the door gasket allowing warm air in. It can also indicate fan motor failure. Defrosting the unit and ensuring the doors seal properly resolves it in many cases.
Common causes
- Freezer fan has become frozen solid due to the door being left open
- Door gasket has a gap allowing warm air in and causing frost buildup on the fan
- Refrigerator is packed so full that it prevents the door from closing completely
- Freezer fan motor has failed
How to fix it
-
1
Check that the freezer door gasket makes full contact all the way around the door and replace it if there is a gap
-
2
Make sure the refrigerator is not packed so full that it prevents the door from closing completely
-
3
If the fan is frozen defrost the unit — unplug it and leave the freezer door open until all ice melts then plug it back in
-
4
If the error returns after defrosting and checking the door gasket arrange professional service
