Samsung Washing Machine 4C / 14C / nF / 4E error code
These codes mean your Samsung washing machine cannot fill with water properly. This is most commonly caused by supply hoses being swapped, kinked, or closed water valves. Samsung washers require both hot and cold water connections — if the hot water line is not connected the washer will show this error when it tries to use hot water, even on cycles labeled Cold. Flood Safe hoses can also interfere with water supply and should not be used.
Common causes
- Hot and cold supply hoses are connected to the wrong inlets
- Water supply hoses are bent, kinked, or not fully connected
- Water supply valves are not fully open
- Drain hose is inserted incorrectly causing a siphon effect
- Debris has built up in the inlet filter screens blocking water flow
- Flood Safe hoses are being used — these interfere with water supply
How to fix it

Make sure hot supply hose connects to the hot inlet and cold to cold — match blue to blue and red to red

Do not use Flood Safe hoses — replace them with standard inlet hoses

Open both water supply valves fully and leave them open while the washer runs

Check the drain hose is inserted between 6 and 8 inches into the drain pipe — not less or more

Unplug the washer or turn off the circuit breaker for 1 minute then restore power and try again

Turn off the water supply valves and disconnect the inlet hoses to check for debris in the filter screens — clean them carefully if debris is found
