Whirlpool Dryer AF / F4 E3 error code
The AF or F4 E3 code means your Whirlpool dryer detected that airflow through the exhaust system is restricted. This is caused by a clogged lint screen, a blocked or crushed exhaust vent, or a vent with too many turns reducing airflow. The dryer will continue to run while this code is present but drying performance will be poor and overheating is a risk. Touch any key to clear the code and return to the estimated time remaining — but the underlying airflow issue must be addressed to prevent recurrence.
Common causes
- Lint screen is clogged with lint and has not been cleaned
- Exhaust vent is blocked with lint buildup inside the duct
- Exhaust hose is crushed, kinked, or has too many 90-degree bends reducing airflow

How to fix it
