Whirlpool Washing Machine F7 E1 error code
Difficulty: Easy
·
Cost: $0–$200
·
Duration: 5–10m
The F7 E1 code means your Whirlpool washing machine detected a motor speed sensing error — the motor is unable to achieve the required speed for the cycle. This can be caused by shipping bolts that were not removed during installation or an overloaded drum. Checking these two things and pressing Pause or Cancel clears the code in most cases.
Common causes
- Shipping bolts were not removed from the back of the washer during installation
- The washer drum is overloaded preventing the motor from reaching the required speed
- Motor speed sensor or motor has malfunctioned
How to fix it
-
1
Check the back of the washer and make sure all shipping bolts have been removed
-
2
If the washer is overloaded remove some items to reduce the load size
-
3
Press the Pause or Cancel button twice and then the Power button once to clear the code
-
4
Restart the cycle and check if the error returns
-
5
If F7 E1 keeps returning contact a qualified technician or schedule service
