Brother Printer (Inkjet) Cannot Detect / No Ink Cartridge error code
The Cannot Detect or No Ink Cartridge message on your Brother inkjet printer means the machine cannot detect an ink cartridge. This is most commonly caused by a cartridge installed too quickly, a used cartridge being reinstalled, an air bubble in a new cartridge, or a non-genuine Brother cartridge. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it slowly and firmly until it clicks. If the error persists try a new genuine Brother cartridge.

Open the ink cartridge cover

Remove the ink cartridge

If the cartridge is new slowly turn it so the ink supply port points downward to remove any air bubbles then reinstall it

Reinstall the cartridge slowly and firmly until you hear it click into place

If using a used cartridge replace it with a new genuine Brother ink cartridge
