The Replace Ink message on your Brother inkjet printer means one or more ink cartridges have reached the end of their life and must be replaced. The machine has stopped all print operations. While memory is available received faxes will be stored in memory. Replace the empty cartridges with new genuine Brother ink cartridges to resume printing. You can still scan even when the ink needs replacing.

    Open the ink cartridge cover

    Remove the empty ink cartridge

    Install a new genuine Brother ink cartridge — press it firmly until it clicks into place

    The machine will automatically clean the print head and resume normal operation
