Brother Printer (Laser) Jam Inside / Jam Rear / Jam Tray / Jam 2-sided error code
The Jam Inside, Jam Rear, Jam Tray, or Jam 2-sided message on your Brother laser printer means paper has become jammed. For Jam Inside open the front cover, remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, pull out all jammed paper, and close the front cover. For Jam Rear open the fuser cover at the back and remove jammed paper. For Jam Tray pull the tray out completely and remove jammed paper. For Jam 2-sided pull out both the paper tray and 2-sided tray, open the back cover, and remove all jammed paper.
Common causes
- Paper has become jammed inside the machine, at the rear fuser, in the paper tray, or in the 2-sided tray
- Incorrect paper size or type causing a jam
- Paper was not loaded correctly in the tray
How to fix it

For Jam Inside: open the front cover, remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, pull out all jammed paper, reinstall the assembly, and close the front cover

For Jam Rear: open the fuser cover at the back of the machine and remove all jammed paper then close the fuser cover

For Jam Tray: pull the paper tray out completely, remove all jammed paper, and push the tray firmly back in

For Jam 2-sided: pull out the paper tray and the 2-sided tray completely, open the back cover, remove all jammed paper, close the back cover, and reinsert both trays firmly

Make sure you are using the correct paper size and type for your model

Reload paper correctly in the tray and align the paper guides to the paper size
