LG Dishwasher bE error code
The bE error means your LG dishwasher detected excessive sudsing or a leveling issue. Using hand-washing liquid or regular dish soap instead of dedicated dishwasher detergent is the most common cause — these soaps produce far too many suds for a dishwasher to handle and can cause leaks and poor cleaning performance. The appliance also needs to be sitting level from front to back and side to side for water to drain correctly. Both issues are easy to fix yourself.
Common causes
- Hand-washing liquid or regular dish soap was used instead of dishwasher detergent
- Too much dishwasher detergent was added causing excessive suds
- Dishwasher is not sitting level causing drainage problems
- Suds residue from a previous incorrect detergent load still inside the tub
How to fix it
-
1
Stop using hand-washing liquid or regular dish soap — only use dedicated dishwasher detergents such as Cascade or Finish
-
2
Check that the dishwasher is level from front to back and side to side — adjust the feet if needed
-
3
If suds are visible inside the tub pour 4 to 7 ounces of milk into a shallow bowl and place it on the upper rack
-
4
Run the dishwasher on the AUTO cycle — the fat in the milk bonds with the suds and helps rinse them out
-
5
If detergent and leveling are both correct reset the dishwasher by unplugging it for 5 minutes
-
6
Plug it back in and run a cycle with the correct detergent
