LG Dryer E13 error code
The E13 error appears exclusively on LG Hybrid Condensing Dryers and means the unit cannot drain the condensate water collected during the drying cycle. Unlike vented dryers, hybrid condensing dryers collect moisture from the laundry and drain it through a hose. If that hose is kinked, twisted, clogged, or frozen the water cannot escape and the dryer stops the cycle. Using an extended drain hose increases resistance and can also trigger this error. Checking and straightening the drain hose resolves it in most cases.
Common causes
- Drain hose is kinked, twisted, or crushed preventing water from flowing out
- Drain hose is clogged or has water pooled at the end
- Drain hose has been extended beyond the standard length increasing resistance
- Condensate water inside the drain hose has frozen due to cold temperatures
How to fix it
-
1
Check the drain hose and straighten any kinks, twists, or crushes along its full length
-
2
Check the end of the drain hose for any pooled water or blockage and clear it
-
3
If the drain hose was extended remove the extension and use only the standard LG drain hose
-
4
If the dryer is in a cold location check whether the hose or water in the sump has frozen and allow it to thaw before restarting
-
5
Press START/PAUSE to restart the dryer after checking the drain hose
-
6
If E13 appears again after restarting the unit requires a professional repair service
