LG Dryer HS error code
The HS error means your LG dryer detected a problem with the humidity sensor — the component that measures how much moisture is left in the laundry to determine when the cycle should end. When this sensor malfunctions the dryer cannot detect dryness accurately and will run for a full 2.5 hours as a fallback, which may make it seem like the dryer is not drying properly. The most common cause is a film of residue coating the sensor bars. Cleaning the sensors usually resolves the error without needing a technician.
Common causes
- Humidity sensor bars are coated with dryer sheet residue, fabric softener, or lint buildup
- Sensor bars are wet or damp preventing an accurate moisture reading
- Humidity sensor has malfunctioned or failed
How to fix it

Locate the humidity sensor bars inside the dryer drum — they are located below the lint filter on the front inner wall

Wipe the sensor bars clean with a soft cloth lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue

Allow the sensor bars to dry completely before running another cycle

Restart the dryer and check if the HS error has cleared
