LG Dryer tE1 error code
Difficulty: Hard
·
Cost: $20–$150
·
Duration: 5m
The tE1 error means your LG dryer detected a problem with the thermistor — the sensor that monitors the temperature inside the drum during the drying cycle. Without an accurate temperature reading the dryer cannot control heat safely and stops the cycle. A reset clears it in some cases but if tE1 keeps returning the thermistor or its wiring will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.
Common causes
- Thermistor has malfunctioned or failed completely
- Wiring connection to the thermistor is loose or damaged
- Temporary electronic glitch causing a false thermistor error
How to fix it
-
1
Unplug the dryer from the outlet or turn off the circuit breaker supplying it
-
2
With the power off press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds
-
3
Restore power and try running a cycle again
-
4
If tE1 returns after the reset the thermistor needs inspection and replacement by a technician
