LG Dryer tE2 error code
The tE2 error means your LG dryer detected a problem with the thermistor, most commonly during cold weather conditions. Unlike tE1 which is a general thermistor fault, tE2 is specifically linked to cold air entering the dryer through the exhaust vent when the outside flappers are not sealing properly. It can also occur during SteamFresh, Steam Sanitary, or Steam cycles when cold air causes the duct to cool down too quickly. Cleaning the lint filter, checking the outside vent flappers, and warming up the dryer with an empty cycle resolves it in most cases.
Common causes
- Cold outside air is entering the dryer through open or improperly sealing exhaust vent flappers
- Outside exhaust vent flappers are frozen, covered in snow, or jammed with lint and cannot close
- Lint filter is dirty reducing airflow and causing temperature irregularities
- Exhaust duct is clogged with lint causing the duct to cool down too quickly during steam cycles
- Steam cycle triggered tE2 due to extreme cold weather conditions
How to fix it

Remove and clean the lint filter thoroughly — wash with warm water and a soft brush then let it dry before reinstalling

Locate the outside exhaust vent and check that the flappers can open and close fully

Remove any snow, ice, frost, or lint buildup from the outside vent flappers that may be preventing them from sealing

Run the dryer empty on any non-steam cycle for a few minutes to warm it up before attempting a steam cycle

Alternatively select SteamFresh, press the MORE TIME button until BIG or BULKY is selected and press Start

Make sure the exhaust hose and duct are clear of lint blockages that could cause the duct to cool too quickly
