The U12 error means your Panasonic washing machine detected that the lid or door is open, or the door lock mechanism cannot confirm it is properly closed. The machine will not run any cycle until the lid is firmly shut and the door lock engages. This is commonly caused by the lid not being closed firmly enough, a damaged door latch hook, or a wiring fault on the door lock. Closing the lid firmly usually clears it.
