The underlined u symbol appears on Samsung induction cooktops and ranges and indicates a Pan Detection Error. It means the cookware placed on the induction element is unsuitable due to its size, material, or placement. Induction cooktops require magnetic cookware — stainless steel, cast iron, or induction-ready pans work correctly. If the issue is not corrected the element will turn off automatically after 1 minute.
