Samsung Refrigerator OF OF / O FF / OFF OFF error code

OF OF, O FF, OFF OFF, or scrolling temperature bars on the display means your Samsung refrigerator is in Cooling Off Mode — also called Demo Mode or Shop Mode. In this mode the lights and display work but the compressor and fans are off so the refrigerator is not cooling. This is not an error and does not require service. The mode needs to be deactivated using a button combination specific to your model.

Common causes

Cooling Off Mode was activated in a retail store for display purposes and was not turned off
Cooling Off Mode was accidentally activated via the control panel

How to fix it

Locate the top two buttons on the left side of the control panel — on newer models also use the top button on the right side

Press and hold these buttons simultaneously for 5 to 8 seconds until a distinct chime sounds

Wait a few moments to confirm the display does not return to Cooling Off Mode

If it returns repeat the button combination until successful
