HP Printer (ENVY) E4 error code

The E4 error means your HP ENVY printer has a paper jam. Carefully locate and remove all jammed paper from inside the printer including any small torn pieces. Never pull paper forcefully as torn pieces left inside will cause the jam to recur.
Common causes
- Paper fed at an angle and became stuck in the paper path
- Multiple sheets were fed at once
- Wrinkled, torn, or damp paper was used
- Input tray was overfilled
- Paper width guide was not adjusted to the edge of the paper stack
How to fix it

Press the Cancel button to attempt to automatically clear the jam

Open the cartridge access door and gently remove any visible jammed paper

Check the input tray and remove any crumpled or stuck paper

If the paper is not visible from the front turn off the printer and unplug it

Check the rear access area if your ENVY model has one and remove any paper

Check the rollers for small torn pieces and remove them

Close all doors plug the printer back in and turn it on
