HP Printer (OfficeJet) Door Open error code
The Door Open message means one of the printer's access doors or covers is open. HP OfficeJet printers cannot print while any door is open. Check all doors including the cartridge access door, the ADF (automatic document feeder) lid, and the rear access door if your model has one. Close all doors firmly until they click and the printer will resume.
Common causes
- Cartridge access door was left open after replacing cartridges or clearing a jam
- ADF lid is not fully closed
- Rear access door or panel is not properly closed
- A door did not click fully into the closed position
How to fix it
-
1
Check all doors on the printer — cartridge access door, ADF lid, and any rear access panels
-
2
Close each door firmly until it clicks into the closed position
-
3
The printer will automatically resume once all doors are properly closed
