HP Printer (OfficeJet) Used / Refilled / Counterfeit Ink Cartridge error code
The Used, Refilled, or Counterfeit Ink Cartridge message means your HP OfficeJet printer detected that one of the installed cartridges is not a new genuine HP cartridge — it may be a refilled cartridge, a counterfeit, or a cartridge that was previously used in another printer. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-genuine cartridges. You can acknowledge the message and continue printing or replace the cartridge with a new genuine HP cartridge.
Common causes
- A refilled or remanufactured HP cartridge was installed
- A counterfeit HP cartridge was installed
- A cartridge that was previously used in another printer is now installed in this printer
- HP+ printers require only genuine HP cartridges

Press OK or Resume to acknowledge the message and continue printing if you choose to use the non-genuine cartridge

Note that HP cannot guarantee print quality or reliability with non-genuine cartridges
