LG Air Conditioner CH93 error code

Difficulty: Medium · Cost: $0–$150 · Duration: 5–10m

The CH93 error means your LG air conditioner's indoor and outdoor units are having trouble communicating with each other. It most commonly appears during the test run after a new installation when the communication between the two units has not stabilised yet. On models released after 2021 this error can also appear if the outdoor unit is not receiving power at all — making it worth checking the power cord and cable connections before calling a technician. If it appears during normal use a power cycle will often resolve a temporary fault.

Common causes

  • Communication between indoor and outdoor units not yet stable after installation or relocation
  • Outdoor unit is not receiving power on models released after 2021
  • Power cord or cable connections to the outdoor unit are loose or disconnected
  • Unstable power supply causing a temporary communication breakdown
  • Communication wiring between units is damaged or incorrectly connected

How to fix it

  1. 1

If the error appeared after installation check that the outdoor unit is receiving power

  2. 2

Inspect the outdoor unit power cord and all cable connections between the indoor and outdoor units

  3. 3

If connections look correct but the error persists contact the installation technician

  4. 4

If the error appeared during normal use unplug the power cord or turn off the circuit breaker and wait 5 minutes

  5. 5

Restore power and check if the error has cleared

  6. 6

If CH93 keeps returning after a power cycle contact a technician for a full inspection
