LG Dishwasher FE / AE (RE) error code

The FE error means your LG dishwasher detected an overfill — more water entered the tub than expected. As a safety measure the drain pump activates automatically to remove the excess water. This is usually caused by a faulty water inlet valve that is not closing properly and allowing water to keep flowing in. A power reset using the circuit breaker clears it in many cases. If FE keeps returning the water inlet valve will need to be inspected and replaced by a technician.

Water inlet valve is faulty and not closing properly allowing continuous water flow
Water pressure from the household supply is too high
Temporary electronic glitch causing a false overfill reading

How to fix it

Press the POWER button to turn the dishwasher off

Turn off the circuit breaker supplying the dishwasher and wait 10 seconds

Switch the circuit breaker back on

Press the POWER button to turn the dishwasher back on and start a new cycle

If FE returns after the reset the water inlet valve needs inspection and replacement by a technician
