LG Dishwasher HE error code
The HE error means your LG dishwasher detected a problem with the water heating system. This happens in two situations — either the water failed to reach the required temperature during the cycle, or the water temperature exceeded the safe maximum of 149°F. Both trigger the same code as a protective measure. A power reset using the circuit breaker resolves it in some cases. If HE keeps returning the heating element, thermistor, or control board will need to be inspected by a technician.
Common causes
- Heating element has malfunctioned and cannot heat the water to the required temperature
- Thermistor is faulty and giving incorrect temperature readings
- Water temperature exceeded 149°F due to a heating component fault
- Temporary electronic glitch causing a false heating error
