The CE error means your LG washing machine detected an abnormally high electrical current flowing through the motor circuit. This is a protective shutdown to prevent damage to the motor or wiring. It can be triggered by a temporary power surge, a loose connection, or a short circuit inside the machine. A quick reset fixes it in some cases but if the error returns the machine will need a professional inspection.
Common causes
- Power surge or sudden spike in the electrical supply
- Loose or damaged wiring connection in the motor circuit
- Short circuit inside the motor or control board
- Ground fault in the electrical system of the washer
How to fix it
-
1
Unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and wait 10 seconds
-
2
Plug it back in and try running a cycle again
-
3
If the CE error comes back immediately turn off the water tap and unplug the machine
-
4
Do not attempt to use the machine — contact a technician for motor and wiring inspection
