The OE error means your LG washing machine tried to drain but failed to empty the tub within the expected time. This is usually caused by a blocked drain hose or a clogged pump filter — both of which you can check yourself before calling a technician. Excessive soap suds can also trigger this error by confusing the drain pump.

Common causes

Drain hose is kinked or bent behind the machine
Drain pump filter is clogged with lint, coins, or debris
Too much detergent causing excessive suds
Drain hose is positioned too high for the pump to push water out
Drain pump motor has failed and is not running

How to fix it

Check the drain hose at the back of the machine and straighten any kinks

Run a spin-only cycle on HIGH speed and listen for a humming sound from the pump

If you hear humming, the pump works — open the filter cover at the bottom front and clean the pump filter

Reduce the amount of detergent you use and run a Tub Clean cycle

If no humming sound is heard during spin, the drain pump may need replacing
