LG Washing Machine (Front Load) IE error code
The IE error appears when your LG washing machine cannot get enough water into the drum before the cycle times out. In most cases the fix is simple — a closed tap, a bent hose, or a clogged inlet filter. Water pressure that is too low can also trigger this error. The recommended water supply pressure is between 14.5 psi and 80 psi. In cold climates the water supply hose can freeze and block the flow entirely. If none of these apply the water inlet valve itself may be faulty and will need a technician.
Common causes
- Water supply tap is not fully open
- Water supply hose is bent, kinked, pinched, or crushed
- Inlet filter screens are blocked with rust, sand, or sediment
- Household water pressure is too low — minimum required is 14.5 psi
- Water supply hose or faucet is frozen due to cold weather
- Faulty water inlet valve not allowing water through
How to fix it

Make sure both hot and cold water taps behind the machine are fully open

Check the water supply hoses for any bends, kinks, or crushing and straighten them out

Turn off the water supply and disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the machine

Use needle nose pliers to pull out the inlet filter screens from the hose connections

Rinse the filters clean under running water and push them firmly back into place

Reconnect the hoses securely and turn the water supply back on

If the weather is cold wrap a hot damp towel around the faucet for 5 minutes to thaw any ice

If the error returns after all the above the inlet valve may need replacing by a technician
