LG Washing Machine (Front Load) dE3 error code

The dE3 error is a door lock fault that appears on certain LG washing machine models. Like dE and dE2 it means the machine cannot confirm the door is securely locked before running a cycle. A reset clears it in some cases but if the error keeps returning the door lock assembly will need to be inspected and likely replaced by a technician.

Common causes

  • Door lock assembly has malfunctioned or failed
  • Wiring to the door lock mechanism is loose or damaged
  • Clothing or object caught in the door preventing full closure
  • Door latch is bent or broken

How to fix it

    Check around the door and gasket for any trapped clothing or objects and remove them

    Close the door firmly and make sure it clicks shut

    Turn off the water tap and unplug the machine for 10 seconds
