LG Washing Machine (Front Load) E6 error code
Difficulty: Medium
·
Cost: $0–$120
·
Duration: 10–20m
The E6 error means your LG washing machine has detected a problem with the clutch — the component that controls how the drum engages during different parts of the wash cycle. This error most commonly occurs on top load models when a small object like a coin, zipper, or paper clip gets trapped in the narrow gap between the pulsator and the tub wall. Removing the foreign object usually clears the error immediately without needing a technician.
Common causes
- A coin, zipper, paper clip or other small object stuck between the pulsator and the tub
- Foreign object jamming the clutch mechanism and preventing normal drum movement
- Clutch component worn or damaged after long term use
How to fix it
-
1
Remove all laundry from the drum
-
2
Look down into the bottom of the tub and inspect the gap between the drum and the pulsator
-
3
Check carefully for any small objects such as coins, zippers, or paper clips trapped in the seam
-
4
Use a pair of pliers or tweezers to carefully remove any object you find
-
5
Once cleared restart the cycle and check if the E6 error is gone
-
6
If no object is found and the error persists the clutch assembly may need inspection by a technician
