LG Washing Machine (Front Load) E7 error code

The E7 error appears on LG washing machines that are installed with a SideKick pedestal washer underneath. It means either the SideKick is not correctly aligned under the front load washer or the stacking switch — the component that detects whether the two units are properly connected — is not seated correctly. This error will not appear on machines without a SideKick pedestal. Checking the alignment and stacking switch almost always resolves it without a technician.

Common causes

  • SideKick pedestal washer is not properly lined up under the front load washer
  • Stacking switch is not sitting in its correct position
  • SideKick was moved or shifted out of alignment during use
  • SideKick is being used without a compatible LG front load washer on top

How to fix it

    Check that the SideKick pedestal is properly aligned and centred under the front load washer

    Verify that the stacking switch at the back of the unit is seated correctly in its position

    Make sure the front load washer is sitting squarely on top of the SideKick with no gaps

    If the alignment looks correct but E7 persists contact a technician to inspect the stacking switch
