LG Washing Machine (Front Load) LE1 error code
Difficulty: Medium
·
Cost: $0–$150
·
Duration: 10–20m
The LE1 error appears on LG top load washing machines and indicates the motor has stalled and cannot turn the drum. It is similar to the LE error but specific to top load models. The most common cause is a foreign object like a coin or small clip trapped between the drum and the washboard. Removing the obstruction usually resolves it. If no object is found the motor or its components will need professional inspection.
Common causes
- A coin, zipper, paper clip, or small object trapped between the drum and the washboard
- Machine overloaded causing the motor to stall under excessive weight
- Motor or motor coupling has worn out or failed
How to fix it
-
1
Turn off and unplug the machine
-
2
Remove all laundry from the drum
-
3
Inspect the gap between the drum and the washboard for any trapped objects
-
4
Use pliers or tweezers to carefully remove anything you find
-
5
Plug the machine back in and restart the cycle
-
6
If LE1 persists with no obstruction found contact a technician to inspect the motor
