LG Washing Machine (Top Load) AE / LE / LE1 error code
Difficulty: Easy
·
Cost: $0–$150
·
Duration: 5–10m
The AE, LE, or LE1 error on your LG top load washing machine indicates a rotation error. AE means the gears responsible for rotating the drum cannot operate. LE and LE1 appear when the motor is stuck. A coin or foreign object trapped between the wash plate and the drum is the most common cause — it can jam the gear or motor and trigger any of these three codes.
Common causes
- A coin, zipper, wire, or other foreign object is trapped between the wash plate and the drum
- Motor is stuck due to an overloaded tub
- Motor has malfunctioned
How to fix it
-
1
Turn off and unplug the washing machine
-
2
Look between the wash plate and the drum for any trapped objects such as coins, wires, or clips
-
3
Use a pair of tweezers or pliers to remove any trapped object
-

-
